OnlyFans fees: net, gross or only messages?
OnlyFans keeps 20% and pays you the net. A 25% fee on gross costs you 31.25% of net. Some agencies charge only on messages and tips, others only on growth above your old baseline. Same percentage, very different bill: the worked example on this page shows the gap on $10,000 a month in fan spending.

What is the difference between net and gross on OnlyFans?
Gross is what fans pay; net is what OnlyFans pays out to you after its 20% share. On $10,000 of fan spending, gross is $10,000 and net is $8,000. A percentage on gross therefore costs you more than the same percentage on net: 25% of gross is $2,500, which is 31.25% of your $8,000 net.

Worked example: the same 25% on four bases
| Basis | Fee on $10,000 fan spending | Share of your net |
|---|---|---|
| 25% of gross | $2,500 | 31.3% |
| 25% of total net ($8,000) | $2,000 | 25.0% |
| 25% of messages + tips (70% of net = $5,600) | $1,400 | 17.5% |
| 25% of growth above a $6,000 baseline | $500 | 6.3% |
The percentage is identical in every row; the bill differs fivefold. That is why the Chat Score rewards agencies that state their basis, and rewards a worked example on their own site even more.
Which bases do chatting agencies use?
Among agencies that publish a rate, the bases are total net, net messages and tips, and growth above a baseline; one flat-fee and one hourly model complete the list. The cost overview shows which agency uses which basis, with the quote.
What are OnlyFans fees for creators?
OnlyFans keeps 20% of subscriptions, PPV and tips and pays out the remaining 80%; payment processing is included in that share. Agency fees come on top and are charged on what the agency names as basis.
How do I check what my contract uses?
Look for the words net, gross, revenue or earnings next to the percentage, and for any definition section. “Revenue” without a definition is not a basis. Ask the agency to write the basis and a worked example into the contract; the 12 questions include the wording, and the calculator shows the result on your numbers.
What does “growth above baseline” mean?
A growth basis means the agency charges only on revenue above your earlier average, for example the 90 days before it started. It sounds cheap and often is in the first months, but check how the baseline is set and whether it is reset later. See the glossary for baseline and tail commission.
